DISTANCE RUNNERS PACE SDSU ON DAY TWO

DES MOINES, IA – Distance runners for the South Dakota State track and field team led the second day of action for the Jackrabbits and earned multiple new personal bests at two separate meets in Iowa on Thursday.
DRAKE RELAYS
Competition on the blue oval in Des Moines started with a new entry into SDSU top ten history as Grace Waage clocked a personal best 4:30.66 in the unseeded 1500-meter run for 14th place. Her time is now ninth in school history.
In the same event, Nicole Greyer ran a 4:32.07 for a new PR and 19th place overall while Claire Beckman finished in 27th with a 4:36.35.
Tori Glazier took ninth place in the unseeded 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.3.
In the unseeded 5000-meter run, Caitlin Bright ran a 17:19.17 and finished in sixth place while in the seeded 5k, Leah Hansen took 15th place with a time of 16:26.67.
Mya Kizer ran a personal best 37:11.82 in the women's 10k for a 19th place overall finish.
On the men's side, Thomas Breuckman took third place in the unseeded 800-meter run after clocking a personal best 1:49.24, which is now the third fastest mark in school history.
Eli Salisbury then ran a 3:56.31 in the men's unseeded 1500-meter run for 24th place overall.
Cody Larson finished in 21st of the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:03.63 while Carter Knaus took 26th in a personal best 9:05.35.
Joseph Minor-Williams clocked a personal best 13:51.50 for second place in the men's seeded 5000-meter run, which is the second fastest mark in SDSU history.

Action for SDSU started off with the women's 1500-meter run, where Emma Ecker ran a 4:43.98 for 18th place while Nina Dawson took 41st place with a 4:51.78.
Malorie Schmoll ran a 11:37.00 in the 3000-meter steeplechase for a seventh place finish.
Kadense Dooley claimed 34th in the 5000-meter run with a personal best time of 18:07.20 as Bridget Henne finished 66th in 18:58.27.
Tyler O'Neill clocked a 4:35.75 in the 1500-meter run for 17th in his heat and 86th place overall.
Lucas Caminiti took 14th place in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase after running a 9:21.20.
Nathan Notgrass led a trio of Jackrabbits in the 5000-meter run, claiming 15th place in a personal best 14:54.45. Kyle Nordling came 35th with a time of 15:06.37 and Mason McDonald ran a 15:20.58 for 49th.
SDSU will continue competition at the Kip Janvrin Open and Drake Relays on Friday and Saturday.
