Five South Dakota State University baseball student-athletes were recognized Tuesday as members of the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Receiving the honor were:

Reece Arbogast, So., Sioux Falls — 4.0 grade-point average in mathematics;
Drew Beazley, Sr., Johnston, Iowa — 3.63 undergraduate GPA in business economics/4.0 graduate GPA in consumer affairs;
Alex Clemons, So., Bettendorf, Iowa — 3.80 GPA in human biology/pre-medicine;
Luke Ira, Sr., Iowa City, Iowa — 3.54 GPA in mathematics, and
Nic Nelson, Sr., Apple Valley, Minn. — 3.53 GPA in business economics.

To be nominated for the award, student-athletes must be carry at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be at least a sophomore in academic in athletic and academic standing, and be a starter or key reserve. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America® consideration. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
