SIOUX FALLS, SD – South Dakota State's own
Jared Wipf has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Track Peak Performer of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
Wipf first ran a new personal best of 6.77 in the 60-meter dash prelims before besting himself again and clocking a 6.73 in the event finals. His new time broke the SDSU school record previously held by Coby Hilton and gave him a runner-up finish in the event.
The mark also now ranks second in the league so far this season.
This is Wipf's second career weekly accolade and first this season.
UP NEXT: The Jackrabbits will host the SDSU D2/NAIA Open on January 26 and 27 at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
