SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota State senior outfielder
Emma Osmundson was honored Monday as the TicketSmarter Summit League Softball Peak Performer of the Week, the conference office announced.Â

Osmundson was one of South Dakota State's standouts during the opening weekend of the softball season. The Jackrabbits played in five games at Fresno State's Kickoff Classic.Â

The Sioux Falls native went 7-for-17 (.438) at the plate. Three of her hits came the way of doubles while she also hit a home run. Osmundson drove in a team-high six RBIs and tallied a team-best slugging percentage of .813. She also has the second highest runs scored total of five, while she walked four times and struck out twice.

Osmundson has previously been awarded with the Peak Performer of the Week award twice in her Jackrabbit career.Â

South Dakota State continues its 2023 season on Friday. The Jacks participate in North Texas' Tracey Beard College Classic and open play at 1:30 p.m. against Texas A&M Commerce.
