SUMMIT LEAGUE FOOD FIGHT RUNS THROUGH FEB. 28

The South Dakota State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be collecting monetary and food donations through Wednesday, Feb. 28 as part of the annual Summit Food Fight Challenge.

The friendly competition between league schools focuses on supporting local organizations in the fight against hunger and food insecurity. Now in its 16^th year, nearly 1.2 million pounds of food has been collected for local Summit League communities.

Donations will be accepted at all Jackrabbit home basketball and wrestling events through Feb. 28 and online through the Summit League's GiveLively website. A donation of $5 equals 13 pounds of food.

This year's donations will be donated to the following organizations:

Brookings Food Pantry
Brookings Backback Project
Jack's Cupboard

At the end of the #SummitFoodFight challenge, the institution that raises the most amount of food, measured in pounds, is deemed the winner, and awarded The Summit League Food Fight trophy. South Dakota State has claimed the trophy nine times.
