SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota State senior Tori Kniesche was recognized Monday as the TicketSmarter Summit League Softball Peak Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced.

Kniesche earned two victories in the circle to help lead South Dakota State at the Michelle Short Memorial Classic in Conway, Ark.

Kniesche began the Central Arkansas-hosted tournament with a stellar effort versus Purdue on Friday. She pitched a complete game allowing just one run on three hits and a walk, while striking out 13 hitters. She then faced the host Bears on Saturday and threw another complete game. She allowed one run on five hits and struck out nine batters. She closed her stay out in Conway by throwing 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief on Sunday versus UCA.

Kniesche has been awarded with the Peak Pitcher of the Week award 14 times during her Jackrabbit career. Teammate Emma Osmundson has earned the Peak Performer of the Week award once this season

South Dakota State continues its 2024 season on Tuesday by taking on sixth-ranked Oklahoma State in Stillwater. The Jackrabbits and Cowgirls play in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
