TEN JACKS NAMED TO HAMPSHIRE HONOR SOCIETY

Ten South Dakota State student-athletes are part of a record class for the 2024 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society.

The Jackrabbit honorees are:

SDSU was one of 59 schools across all divisions and one of 10 Football Championship Subdivision programs with 10 or more honorees. Across all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football, a record total of 1,989 student-athletes from 339 schools qualified for membership.

In addition, South Dakota State is one of 23 programs to have had at least one player honored in all 18 years (2007-present) of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, with 104 Jackrabbit football student-athletes honored since its inception. The initiative has now recognized more than 18,000 student-athletes.

The Jackrabbit honorees are:
- DyShawn Gales, cornerback, North Chicago, Illinois;
- Zach Heins, tight end, Sioux Falls;
- Quinton Hicks, defensive end, Wichita, Kansas;
- Jaxon Janke, wide receiver, Madison;
- Caden Johnson, defensive end, Wahoo, Nebraska;
- Mason McCormick, offensive lineman, Sioux Falls;
- John O'Brian, offensive lineman, Eaton Rapids, Michigan;
- Cade Terveer, defensive end, Brandon;
- Ryan Van Marel, defensive tackle, Sheldon, Iowa;
- Brian Williams, defensive tackle, Chipley, Florida.
