SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota State had two student-athletes recognized on Wednesday by The Summit League as the conference office announced the 2024 Softball Academic All-League Team. Representing the Jackrabbit program were Brooke Dumont and Emma Osmundson.

Dumont and Osmundson each were First Team All-Summit League performers during the 2024 season. Osmundson, who was been previously honored Academic All-League by the conference twice, was a Summit League All-Tournament selection as well. Dumont claimed her first Academic All-League accolades on Wednesday.

The student-athletes were chosen for the honor based on their academic and athletic performances this past season. Both Jackrabbits were previously picked to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in May.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League Team, a student-athlete must have a GPA of at least 3.30, completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50% of their team's competitions, except pitcher who must have participated in 20% of their team's total contests.

The Academic All-League Team was voted on by a panel of sports information directors and faculty athletic representatives from the league's member institutions. The team is made up of initially by ten student-athletes that receive the most votes with all ties standing.
