The South Dakota State softball program looks ahead to this upcoming February as the Jackrabbits announced their 2026 schedule on Wednesday which features a slew of 56 games across a four-month span. Â

SDSU's 2026 slate opens in a familiar location as the Jacks play their first 13 games in the state of Texas across four locations.Â

The Jackrabbits have a five-game appearance at East Texas A&M in Commerce from Feb. 6-8. SDSU will play single games versus the host Lions, Texas Southern and Bucknell, while it faces Stephen F. Austin twice. SDSU then travels to Waco to face Baylor on Feb. 10 and to Abilene Christan to take on the Wildcats the following day in a doubleheader. The Jackrabbits close their stay in the Lone Star State with a five-game showing at the Tarleton State-hosted tournament from Feb. 13-15. SDSU will play a pair of contests versus SFA and Colgate, as well as a matchup versus the host Texans.

The Jacks play in a four-game event hosted by Murray State from Feb. 20-21. SDSU follows that with a five-game appearance at Oklahoma State as the Jacks participate in the Cowgirls' home tournament from Feb. 27-March 1.Â

A doubleheader features the Jackrabbits heading to Lincoln to play the Huskers on March 5. Nebraska was a Super Regionals participant last season.

SDSU heads west for its next four games. State takes part in the Ram Invitational, hosted by Colorado State in Fort Collins, on March 7-8. The Jackrabbits go back to Texas for their next five contests as they play in the UTA Arlington-hosted event from March 13-15.

The Jackrabbits play their final game before Summit League action begins on March 17 when SDSU takes on Wichita State on the Shockers' home field.Â

The Summit League schedule begins on March 20. State's three away series' see the Yellow and Blue travel to face South Dakota (March 20-22), Omaha (April 17-19) and North Dakota State (April 30-May 2).Â

SDSU makes its home debut of the 2026 season on March 27 by hosting North Dakota at Jerald T. Moriarty Field. The Jackrabbits are slated for home series' against the Fighting Hawks (March 27-29) and Kansas City (April 2-4).Â

The Jacks take a brief break from Summit League play with a weekend of non-conference action. SDSU will play two games against both Iowa and Georgia Tech over the weekend of April 11-12.Â

South Dakota State hosts its final home series from April 24-26 at Jerald T. Moriarty Field. The Jacks take on St. Thomas in Brookings which will include senior recognition.

The regular season schedule leads into the 2026 Summit League Softball Championship. St. Thomas serves as host of the tournament which will be held in the Twin Cities.
