Shane Willenbring Football Teaser 2025-02

South Dakota State offensive lineman Shane Willenbring was honored Monday on the 2025 FCS Football Central Freshman All-American Team.

A redshirt freshman from La Crosse, Wisconsin, Willenbring started all 14 games for the Jackrabbits, who compiled a 9-5 overall record and advanced to the second round of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. He started at center for the first 11 games before shifting to right guard for the final three contests. For the season, SDSU averaged 28.6 points and 379.7 yards of total offense per game in qualifying for postseason play for the 14th consecutive season.

Willenbring was one of 60 players from all positions named tot he 2025 FCS Football Central Freshman All-American Team. He previously earned a spot on the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team.
