SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - South Dakota State's
Oscar Cluff was named on Thursday as the Kwik Star Summit League Male Peak Newcomer of the Month for January 2025, the conference office announced.Â
Cluff helped lead the Jackrabbits to a 6-2 record during the course of the month. The senior center averaged 18.8 points, 14.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He also had accumulated a 66.4% field goal percentage while producing six double-doubles.Â
The Sunshine Coast, Australia, native earned Lou Henson National Mid-Major Player of the Week accolades following a 30-point, 19-rebound performance versus Denver on Jan. 2. His 21-point, 20-rebound game versus Oral Roberts on Jan. 18 made him the fourth player in Division I men's basketball with a 20-20 stat line this season. He became only the second men's Jackrabbit player to achieve a similar statistical performance during the program's Division I era.Â
Cluff currently ranks first in the country in rebounds per game (12.8), second in double-doubles (16) and fourth in field goal percentage (65.5%).Â
South Dakota State continues Summit League action this evening. The Jackrabbits are scheduled to host St. Thomas at 7 p.m. in First Bank & Trust Arena.
