South Dakota State had five student-athletes recognized as Academic All-District selections, the College Sports Communicators organization announced on Tuesday. The five Jackrabbits chosen were
Akayla Barnard,
Alli Boyle,
Brooke Dumont,
Mia Jarecki and
Emma Vike.Â
Â
The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Â
Dumont and Jarecki are both three-time Academic All-District performers. Barnard, Boyle and Vike are all first-time recipients of the academic honors.Â
Â
The five Jackrabbits were also integral pieces to the 2025 squad. Three of the honorees in Barnard, Dumont and Jarecki were First Team All-Summit League awardees, while Vike was a Second Tam selection. Boyle was one of two Jackrabbits to start and play in all 55 games during the 2025 season.Â
Â
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Two SDSU student-athletes in Dumont and Jarecki were selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17.
