CORALVILLE, Iowa - The four remaining Jackrabbits at the Soldier Salute found their way to the podium on Sunday, highlighted by third place finishes by Jacob Herm and Jarrett Wadsen.

Jacob Herm was the highest Jackrabbit finisher, alongside Jarrett Wadsen, taking third at 165 pounds. Herm started his day off with a tough task in No. 17 Bryce Hepner. Hepner was able to stifle Herm's scoring offense on his way to a 8-3 decision that sent Herm to the consolation semis. In the consolation semis, Herm took on Wyoming starter Sloan Swan and made quick work of him with an 18-3 tech fall victory. In the third place match, Herm took on two-time NCAA Qualifier Jack Thomsen. Herm used takedowns in the first and second periods to build a lead, which he held on to, securing a 10-8 decision, finishing third at 165 pounds.

Jarrett Wadsen made it to the Consolation Finals after a medical forfeit from Waylon Cressell in the consolation semis and made the most of his opportunity taking third at 184 pounds. He took on Army Prep's Nash Banko in the third place match, where he scored a takedown in the waning seconds of the third period and put Banko on his back for the pin, clinching third place.

Daniel Guanajuato likewise started his day with a tough task in No. 13 Kysen Terukina. Guanajuato scored first but Terukina battled back and took a 6-5 decision via the ride time point. In the consolation semis, Guanajuato took on Bowen Downey and scored twice early to secure a 10-6 decision and a spot in the third place match. Guanajuato was unable to get to offense in the third place match and ultimately dropped a decision to Sebastian Degennaro, 0-6, finishing fourth at 125 pounds.

Burk Blasius finished his tournament off on a high note as he took on Iowa freshman Tyrel Miller. Blaisus was able to score a takedown early, before putting Miller on his back for the pin at 2:05. With the win, Blasius finished 7th in a loaded 184-pound bracket.

NOTES:

Jarrett Wadsen scored his first collegiate pin.

UP NEXT

The Jackrabbits head to Cedar Falls next weekend to take part in the NWCA National Duals against some of the top Mid-Major Division One programs in the country.
