CLEVELAND, Ohio — South Dakota State long snapper Kaydon Olivia and defensive tackle Aaron Wolfcale-Holsten were among 57 student-athletes named Wednesday to the 28th Annual Academic All-Star Team selected by the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association.
A senior from Schertz, Texas, Olivia compiled a 3.96 grade-point average while majoring in sport and recreation management. He handled all the long-snapping duties for the Jackrabbits for three seasons, earning second-team all-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors in 2023 and honorable mention accolades in 2025.
Wolfcale-Holsten, a senior from Gilbert, Arizona, posted a 3.83 GPA as an advertising major. He lettered four times, including in 2025 when he racked up 23 total tackles, including four tackles for loss and a sack in 13 games.
Nominees were required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate or graduate study and completed a minimum of four semesters at their current institution. In addition, nominees must have been a starter or key reserve and participated in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
South Dakota State has had at least one student-athlete honored on the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team 19 of the last 20 seasons with a total of 33 selections.
