CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The Jackrabbits battled their way to two dual victories on Friday on day one of the NWCA National Duals.

The Jacks started their day off in a match against Harvard. The Jacks came out firing, winning the first three matches of the dual at 125, 133 and 141 pounds. Brady Roark scored a first-period takedown to secure the win over Logan Brzozowski, Cale Seaton battled back after giving up a takedown to grab an 8-4 decision over Coleman Nogle, and Julian Tagg added the exclamation point with a tech fall win over Sidney Tildsley, 19-3.

Redshirt-freshman Logan Swensen made his 149-pound debut during the dual against Jack Crook, where he ended up on the wrong side of an 8-2 decision. The Jacks would not drop a match for the rest of the dual as Cael Swensen and Jacob Herm rattled off consecutive decisions, with Herm making his dual debut for the Jacks.

Moses Espinoza-Owens added to his impressive season with a major decision over Ben Smith, and Brock Fettig fought to the end of his match to beat Matthew Walsh via tie tiebreaker.

Bennett Berge returned to the lineup and made short work of Hudson Skove, picking up a tech fall in the first period, and Luke Rasmussen finished the dual on a high note, pinning his opponent in just 54 seconds to secure the 35-3 Jackrabbit victory.

The Jackrabbit squad then went up against the Huskies of Northern Illinois. Daniel Guanajuato got the party started with an 18-4 major decision over Josh Vazquez at 125 pounds. Next, Cale Seaton fought hard but ultimately dropped a match to No. 28 Markel Baker, 4-2 at 133 pounds.

Julian Tagg went two for two on tech falls as he made quick work of Charles Curtis with a 16-1 tech fall. Logan Swensen struggled to score on his offense during his match with Lucas O'Brien and ultimately dropped a major decision, 10-2. Cael Swensen answered back, scoring a decision over National Qualifier, Landen Johnson at 157 pounds, to extend the Jacks' lead to 12-7.

Jacob Herm faced off with Brett Smith at 165 pounds in a back-and-forth fight. Smith used a late takedown and two-point near fall to secure an 11-8 decision over the freshman, cutting the lead to two.

But the Jackrabbits wouldn't look back after this match as Moses Espinoza-Owens and Brock Fettig each scored decisions to extend the Jackrabbit lead. Bennett Berge once again made short work of his opponent, scoring a tech fall in the second period this time. Micah Hach finished the dual for the Jacks as he scored in the second and third periods on his way to an 8-1 decision over Northern Illinois' Logan Bender.

Using their big second half, the Jackrabbits took the dual 26-10.

The Jackrabbits return to action tomorrow at 9 a.m. to take on the Campbell Camels before going up against Central Michigan at 11 a.m.
