BIG 12 BRACKETS REVEALED

IRVING, Texas — SDSU will have six of the 10 Jackrabbit wrestlers entered in the Big 12 Wrestling Championship seeded in the top eight of their respective weight classes. Seedings and pairings were announced by conference officials early Monday morning.

Brady Roark, Julian Tagg, Cael Swensen, Marcus and Moses Espinoza-Owens and Bennett Berge all received seeds at the Big 12 Tournament. Tagg, Berge, and Roark all come in ranked fourth in their respective brackets, while Swensen and Moses Espinoza-Owens are seeded sixth. Marcus Espinoza-Owens checks in as the 8-seed in the 165-pound bracket, rounding out the seeded Jacks.

Cale Seaton, Alek Martin, Brock Fettig and Luke Rasmussen round out the unseeded Jacks. Cale Seaton will have to start his run in Tulsa against No.1 overall seed, Jax Forrest of Oklahoma State, at 133 pounds. Alek Martin returns to action against No. 5 seed Josh Edmond of Missouri at 149 pounds, while Brock Fettig gets a rematch against No. 7 seed Isaac Dean of Iowa State at 184 pounds. Luke Rasmussen starts his tournament against the No. 6 seed at heavyweight, Jack Forbes of Utah Valley.

Moses Espinoza-Owens was the only Jackrabbit to receive a bye in the first round, where he will take on the winner of No.3 Cam Steed or Hudson Rogers.

Brady Roark is set to face off with Wyoming's Sefton Douglass in the first round at 125 pounds, while Julian Tagg takes on Mizzou's Easton Hilton at 141 pounds in his opening bout. Cael Swensen will open his tournament run with a rematch against Utah Valley's Mark Takara at 157 pounds, and Marcus Espinoza-Owens will face off with Zyon Trujillo of Utah Valley at 165 pounds.

Bennett Berge rounds out the Jacks with first-round matches as he takes on Northern Colorado's Tyler Perry to start his run in Tulsa.

Allocations
The Big 12 Conference was awarded a total of 63 automatic pre-allocations for the 2026 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. The allocations, which include at least six bids for eight weight classes, will be determined by placings at the Big 12 Wrestling Championship, March 6-7 in Tulsa, Okla.
