Three South Dakota State baseball student-athletes have been honored as members of the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Baseball Team. The nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom are recognized across four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Jackrabbit honorees were:
Dayton Franke, So., Plymouth, Minnesota — 3.70 grade-point average in physical education/teacher education;
Ty Madison, Sr., Omaha, Nebraska — 3.56 GPA in exercise science/interdisciplinary studies;
Sam Novotny, Jr., Omaha, Nebraska – 3.51 GPA in business economics/interdisciplinary studies.Â
To be nominated for CSC academic honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average. In addition, position players must have played in 90 percent of his team's games or started 67 percent of those games, while pitchers must have pitched at least 35 innings or made 17 appearances by the nomination deadline.
