BEFORE SDSU: Was a starting defensive end and tight end for the Class 11AA state runner-up Brookings High School Football Team in 2014 ... during his prep career, totaled 184 tackles, 20 sacks, two blocked punts and blocked a field goal ... also tallied 10 receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown ... was a two-time Class 11AA all-state selection at defensive end, as well as a two-time all-conference honoree ... earned Academic All-Eastern South Dakota honors three times and ESD All-Conference honors twice ... also ran track at Brookings ... sisters Liz and Nicole both played college basketball
