Jennie Sell joined the South Dakota State staff in August 2012 as an academic advisor to Jackrabbit student-athletes.
A Toledo, Ohio, native, Sell brought more than 10 years of experience in higher education with her to South Dakota State, including five years as an academic advisor for athletics at the University of Northern Iowa, four years as an athletic academic advising assistant and freshman mentor at Villanova University and one year as a resident advisor at Bowling Green State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.
Sell also worked as an elementary school teacher in Manilus, New York, and as an adjunct professor in health, physical education and leisure services at Northern Iowa.
In addition to her teaching and advising, Sell served on numerous university committees at Northern Iowa and volunteered countless hours for a variety of organizations. For her service, she earned the Administration and Finance Division "High Five Award" in 2006 and the Eunice A. Dell "Making a Difference Award" in 2009.
Sell was honored as SDSU Students' Association Advisor of the Year in March 2020.
