Slade Larscheid begins his second year at SDSU as the associate athletic director for development, his duties include overseeing major gift fundraising, athletic endowments and managing the Jackrabbit Club. Larscheid also serves as the sport supervisor for women’s basketball, men’s tennis and women’s tennis programs.
Recently, Larscheid and staff have raised over $28 million towards the new Indoor Practice and Human Performance Center. In 2012, SDSU also hit the $1 million mark for annual support through the Jackrabbit Club.
Before joining the Jackrabbits, Larscheid worked as the director of development at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill, where he coordinated the Huskie Athletic Scholarship Fund. While at NIU, Larscheid spearheaded back-to-back record highs in total donors and dollars raised for 2009 and 2010, surpassing 1,500 members and $1.4 million.
Prior to NIU, Larscheid was the assistant director of development at the University of South Dakota in 2007-08. Larscheid started his athletic administration career at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill, as a graduate assistant and intern in the athletic department.
A Spearfish native, Larscheid attended Northwestern University where he earned three varsity letters as a member of the Wildcat football team. In 2006, he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in communication studies, and earned Academic All-Big Ten accolades.
Larscheid continued his education at Northwestern, and in 2008 graduated with a master's degree in sports administration.
Larscheid and his wife, Stephanie, live in Sioux Falls.
