Oto Osenieks is in his first year at South Dakota State University as the 2016-17 Graduate Assistant Coach for the Jackrabbits. His primary roles with the team includes coordinating team video and working in player development.
From Riga, Latvia, Osenieks played four seasons (2010-14) at Minnesota under head coaches Tubby Smith and Richard Pitinio before serving as a graduate assistant for the Golden Gophers during the 2014-15 season.Â
For his playing career, he appeared in 96 games with 24 starts. Osenieks averaged 2.1 rebounds and 3.5 points per game, swatting 23 total shots with a .396 field goal percentage.
He also played for the Latvian U18 National Team in the 2008 European Championships.Â
Osenieks earned both a Bachelor of Science in Business and Marketing Education in 2014 and is working towards a Masters Degree in Sports Management.
