2024-25: Started season at 197 pounds before moving up to 285 pounds … put together a 16-10 record on the year…scored the most victories by fall on the team, with eight total…competed in six open tournaments and one dual against Northern Iowa at the NWCA National Duals.
2023-24: Again backed up at 197 pounds ... turned in an 8-3 overall record while competing in three open tournaments ... ended season on a seven-match winning streak and claimed individual co-championships at both the Worthington Open (1/20) and Don Parker Open (2/3) ... his three wins at the Worthington Open consisted of two technical falls and a major decision ... won twice by technical fall and once by pin en route to a 4-0 record at the Don Parker Open
2022-23: Provided additional depth at 197 pounds as he again served as an understudy to All-American Tanner Sloan ... finished with a 10-4 record, earning seven victories by fall ... in first action of the season, turned in a 2-2 mark at the Soldier Salute (12/29-30) .... pinned Wyoming's Tyce Raddon early in third period in Jackrabbit dual debut ... won title at Flash Flanagan Open after winning two matches by fall and one by technical fall ... in final month of the season, placed third at Don Parker Open (2/4) and second at Iowa State's Last Chance Open (2/19)
2021-22: Turned in a number of impressive performances on the mat during his redshirt season ... compiled a 16-6 record in open tournaments at 197 pounds ... placed fifth at the season-opening Bison Open with a 4-2 record, winning three matches by fall (11/13) ... finished as runner-up in the Freshman/Sophomore Division of the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open (11/28) ... posted 4-0 records en route to winning titles at both the Doane Open (12/4) and Don Parker Open (2/5) ... all four of his victories at the Don Parker Open were by fall ... added a second-place finish at the UNI Open (12/11)
BEFORE SDSU: Cody qualified for the Class B state tournament five times for Philip Area High School and culminated his prep career career with a state title at 195 pounds and an undefeated senior season with a 30-0 mark ... compiled a 152-22 record over five seasons ... was runner-up at 195 pounds as a junior with a 23-1 record ... also qualified at 138 pounds as an eighth-grader (38-10 record), 160 pounds as a freshman (24-5 record) and 182 pounds as a sophomore (fifth place, 34-6 record)
