2016-17: Finished first season in the SDSU wrestling program on a high note, winning nine of his final 11 matches ... ended his redshirt season 19-12 overall with two titles in open tournaments ... began collegiate career by going 2-2 at Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open (11/6) ... shared 125-pound title with twin brother, Josh, at Ridgewater Open (1/14) ... placed sixth with 3-2 record, winning all three matches by fall, at Worthington Open (1/21) ... completed season by winning 125-pound title with 4-0 record at Sioux City Open (2/4)
BEFORE SDSU: Compiled a 114-7 record in three seasons at Clarion High School, winning consecutive state titles at 106 pounds as a junior and 113 pounds as a senior … went 46-1 as a junior and 39-2 as a senior … was state runner-up at 106 pounds as a sophomore … during the club season, was a 2015 Iowa Triple Crown winner, claiming state titles in freestyle, Greco-Roman and folkstyle … also recorded victories at several other prestigious regional tournaments, including winning the Intermat JJ Classic three times and claiming titles at both the Midwest Classic and Indiana Hoosier Preseason Open in 2015
