Christi Williams joined the Jackrabbit Athletic staff in 2005 as the ticket manager, then moved to the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations in 2007 and associate athletic director for tickets and marketing in 2012, before her current role as associate athletic director for operations.
As an associate AD, Williams oversees all game management operations, including scheduling all SDSU athletic facilities, and assists with the new and renovated facilities and internal operations of the SDSU Athletic Department. She also oversees equipment operations and is the sport supervisor for softball and Swimming & diving.
Throughout her years at South Dakota State, Williams compiled comprehensive experience in all aspects of game management, corporate sponsors, development and NCAA postseason events. Â
Before joining the Jackrabbit staff full time, Williams served as a graduate assistant coach for the SDSU women’s basketball team from 2003-05 while pursing a master’s degree in sports pedagogy. During her time on the bench, the Jackrabbits advanced to the Division II Elite Eight Tournament for the third straight season and began the successful transition to Division I athletics.
Williams’ college career started at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she earned a liberal arts degree in 2000. She then moved on to Wayne State College, where worked as a student assistant coach with the women’s basketball team before earning a bachelor’s degree in sport management and business in 2003.
