OMAHA, Neb. ? Creighton University broke a scoreless halftime deadlock with a pair of second half goals to defeat South Dakota State University 2-0 Wednesday night at Morrison Stadium in Omaha, Neb.
Lindsay Vaught put CU on the board in the 64th minute, scoring off an assist from Anne Peetz and Jordan Bruch. Toch Ihemelu added an insurance goal in the 80th minute of the contest to give the Bluejays the 2-0 victory.
The Jackrabbits were limited to only a few scoring opportunities in the match as they were out-shot 19-7 on the night. Senior goalkeeper Jenn Davis recorded eight saves on the night, including five in the first half to keep Creighton off the board.
SDSU will be back in action on Monday as they take on College of Saint Mary (Neb.) at Fishback. Start time for the match against the Flames is set for 1 p.m.
