FARGO, N.D. ? South Dakota State outshot IUPUI 14-11 in the second half Sunday morning at the Bison Invitational in Fargo, N.D., but Jaguars goalkeeper Jamie Farrell saved six shots in the second period to secure a 3-0 victory over SDSU at the Ellig Sports Complex.
IUPUI took a 1-0 lead 13 minutes into the match as Jen Scorniaesenchi scored from 35 yards out off an assist from Emily Hicks.

Erin Kasmarik, a sophomore from Coon Rapids, Minn., looked to tie the game one minute later off a penalty kick, but saw her shot saved by Farrell. IUPUI's Angie Pilat gave the Jags a 2-0 advantage in the match, beating goalkeeper Jenn Davis from 16 yards out in the 35th minute.
After having two of its shots blocked by the IUPUI defense, SDSU saw another scoring opportunity fail as senior Maggie Eilers missed a penatly kick early in the second half.
IUPUI's Katrina McCrory added an insurance goal late in the contest to secure the 3-0 victory for the Jaguars.
South Dakota State finished the match dead even with IUPUI in shots taken with 18 and recorded a 7-6 advantage in shots-on-goal.
The tandem of Davis and Nicole Lograsso made three stops on the day, while Farrell recored seven saves for the Jaguars.
SDSU moved to 3-2-1 on the year, while IUPUI improved to 3-2-1 on the season.
The Jacks will be back in action Sept. 15 when they take on Drake University at Fishback Soccer Park in Brookings. Start time for the match is set for 7 p.m.
