The Golden Gophers, who topped the .500 mark with the victory to improve to 9-8 overall, swept the three-game series by a total of four runs from the Jackrabbits. SDSU fell to 5-14 overall after dropping its seventh consecutive game.
SDSU tied the game in the fourth inning. Korby Mintken doubled to lead off the inning, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Tim Hanigan and scored on a Tyson Fisher sacrifice fly.
The game remained tied at 1-all until the Jackrabbits broke the deadlock with a run in the top of the ninth. Craig Parry doubled to open the inning, then advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Tony Martin. Nick Adams then greeted closer Scott Matyas with a single to center to score Parry.
In the bottom of the ninth, SDSU left-hander Mike Robinson retired the leadoff batter before allowing a base hit to pinch-hitter Michael Kvasnicka. Decker then stepped to the plate and delivered a game-tying double. Kirby Morsching came on in relief for the Jackrabbits and induced a flyout for the second out of the inning. Senior Jeremy Chlan came through in the clutch for the Gophers with a single to center to score Decker with the game-winner.
