Lang Wedemeyer and South Dakota State soccer team announced the addition of
Aimee Fiedler to the 2009 recruiting class.
Fielder, from New Braunfels, Tex.,?competed for the Seguin High School varsity soccer team from 2006-09 and was named the captain from 2007-09. In her senior season, she led her team in scoring with 10 goals and four assists. She also earned the teams “hustler” award following the 2007-08 season and was also named to the all-district second team. At the club level, Fielder competed with the New Braunfels Rapids Soccer Club from 2008-09 where they won the South Texas Youth Soccer Association Western District Regional Championship in 2008 and placed third at the state championships.
“Aimee is a dynamic attacking player that thrives on one-on-one duals,” said Wedemeyer. “She is best up front and fits into our system very well.”
Fielder was a member of the National Honor Society and a regular on the honor roll from 2006-08. She placed first in the VFW “Voice of Democracy” speech contest in 2005 and 2006 and was named Seguin high school Student of the Month in November 2006.
The Jacks return to the field against Northern Iowa in exhibition action, Aug. 21 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
