It took a while for the SDSU bats to heat up on the chilly Saturday afternoon, as SUU starter Katie Kearns took a no-hit bid into the fourth inning. Brittany Postma broke-up the no hitter with a leadoff single and Brooke Postma followed with an infield single to set the table for Durazo, who belted a three-run shot, her second of the season, over the fence in left centerfield to put SDSU on top 3-0.
Broshar came up next and hit the ball to almost the exact same spot for her second homerun of the season to put the Jacks up 4-0 before the rally ended.
Marston gave up a leadoff walk in the top of the fifth, but still faced the minimum as the Jacks got a double play two batters later to end the inning.
Krystal Higgerson drew a leadoff walk in the Jackrabbits half of the fifth, which prompted a Southern Utah pitching change back to Game 1 starter Brooks.
The moved seemed to work, as the SUU second baseman tagged Higgerson out on a Brittany Postma fielder's choice in the next at-bat and Brooke Postma grounded out, after Brittany stole second, for the second out.
Brittany advanced to third on Brooke's groundout and then scored when Durazo doubled to right center to put SDSU up 5-0.
That brought up Broshar, who singled home Durazo for a 6-0 Jackrabbit lead, and then Stacey Evans, who reached on a throwing error by the shortstop to put runners on second and third.
Lunn came up next and took a pitch off the shoulder to load the bases for Stroh, who ended the game via the eight-run rule, with a double to right centerfield that scored Broshar and Evans.
