SDSU head coach Lang Wedemeyer
"It's like the whole rest of our season. We played very well, missed our chances, had an opportunity to put the game away and it didn't happen for us. It bit us in the end."
"We had our chances. The girls played very good soccer for the majority of the game, but just didn't finish."
"Credit to North Dakota State for the game that they played, but it's hard to end two years in a row on your home field and not advance."
On Kayla Braffet missing a on a good look early in the second half
"When you miss a wide open goal it's certainly something that's going to haunt us, and that would have been the difference in the game, but you can't just pin it on that, there were opportunities in the first half as well that we didn't put away, and again, that's just been the story of our season, just inconsistent in front of the goal.
On the shootout, using JoLynn Janckila and Danielle Neuhalfen to take PK shots
"We practice them (shootouts) during the week, and the girls we chose seem to be the most consistent in training, but it's a heartbreak when you miss when you're put in that situation."
What did you say to the team afterwards?
"Just that we're very proud of them and for their efforts and that they played a great game tonight and it's a shame that we're not going to continue."
Thoughts on the first goal by SDSU
"I thought it was a great build-up, and we had good numbers in the box and KJ (Kaitlin Justice) was pretty cool and collected in finishing the rebound. It was nice, I just wish we had a few more."
