MADISON, Wis. - The South Dakota State softball team stopped in Madison, Wis., on the way to a weekend series at IUPUI for a doubleheader with Wisconsin, who handed the Jackrabbits a pair of losses on Wednesday by the scores of 4-0 and 7-0.
The sweep drops the Jacks to 8-28 heading into a doubleheader on Thursday at Green Bay. The Badgers improve to 22-15 on the season.
Wisconsin's Game 1 starter Cassandra Darrah dominated in the circle, holding the Jacks hitless until the seventh, when Ashley Durazo broke up the no-hit bid with a single up the middle.
Darrah finished the complete game shutout with just the one hit, adding four strikeouts and one walk in the win.
Kori Seidlitz gave up four runs on nine hits over six innings in the loss, with five walks and one strikeout.
