Upcoming Event: Men's Basketball versus Mayville State (Exhibition) on October 29, 2025 at 8:30 p.m.

12/25/2015 1:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
Two monster road trips in the books, South Dakota State returns to their home state to take on Middle Tennessee State at the Sanford Pentagon on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in the Jackrabbits final nonconference game of the season.
The Jackrabbits went on a five game, 11 day road trip earlier in the season and posted a 4-1 record, including the Mayan Division title of the Cancun Challenge, but the recently completed nine day, three game trip did not go quite as well, as the Jacks posted a 1-2 mark, with a 79-67 loss at Texas Tech and a 99-95 loss at Weber State bookending a grind-it-out 56-52 win at FGCU.
The Jackrabbits lost more than just two games though, as senior Jake Bittle suffered an injury before the Weber State game, and joins senior point guard George Marshall and sophomore swing man Skyler Flatten on the bench with various injuries.
It's not all bad news for SDSU though, as all three expect to return to the lineup yet this season.
THE OPPONENT
MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE BLUE RAIDERS (7-3, 2-0 Neutral): Picked to finish third in the 14-team Conference USA Preseason Poll, MTSU's second three game winning streak of the season came to an end on?Tuesday at Georgia State.
The first three game streak came with a trio of wins at the Great Alaskan Shootout with wins over Alaska-Anchorage, UNC?Ashville and Toledo, while the second streak saw wins at home over South?Alabama and Belmont sandwiched around a win at Auburn.
MTSU head coach Kermit Davis, like Scott Nagy, should see their 400th career win this season, as Davis needs five wins and Nagy six to reach the milestone in their 21st year of coaching. Â
