TERRE HAUTE, Indiana—After finishing third at the NCAA Midwest Regional last week, South Dakota State senior
Joel Reichow will compete at the NCAA Cross Country Championship this weekend at LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. The 10K race will begin at Noon on Saturday.

Reichow, a 2015 all-American, qualified for the 2016 NCAA Cross Country Championships with a fantastic performance at the Midwest Region Championships in Iowa City, Iowa, last Friday, finishing in 30:21.8 for third place. The top four individuals from each of the nine regions on teams that don't qualify for the championship race are selected to compete at the championship. The championship race features 36 individual competitors in addition to the 31 teams competing. The weather forecast in Terre Haute, Ind., for Saturday is cloudy with swirling winds and a high of 45 degrees.

The White Bear Lake, Minn., native has a chance to join elite company in SDSUÂ cross country history. Reichow, who finished 36
th at last seasons NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky., is already one of only four SDSU cross country athletes to have earned Division I all-American honors, and he could become just the second to do it multiple times and first to do it in back-to-back seasons.

Reichow has had a very strong season for the Jacks, finishing as the team's top runner in each competition. Reichow was a top-three finisher in four of six meets on the season, including winning the SDSU Classic title for the second consecutive season and a runner-up finish at The Summit League championships Oct. 29.

The top 40 finishers at the NCAA Championships earn all-American honors.
