LOUISVILLE, Kentucky—Senior guard
Kerri Young led the South Dakota State University women's basketball team with 13 points but it was not enough as the Jackrabbits suffered an 83-30 loss to No. 8 Louisville Wednesday night in front of 7,408 fans in the KFC Yum! Center.
Senior
Clarissa Ober led the Jackrabbits, 8-3, with seven rebounds.
Louisville, 9-2, was led by Jazmine Jones' 15 points and Myisha Hines-Allen and Sydney Zambrotta added 10 points each.
After spotting Louisville an 11-0 lead to open the game, junior
Tiffaney Flaata scored four-straight points and Young sank a 3-pointer to cut the Cardinals' lead to four, 11-7, with 3:56 left. A 6-2 run to finish the quarter put Louisville up 17-9.
Louisville continued its run in the second quarter scoring the first four points. SDSU cut the lead to nine, 23-14, at 5:39 on a Young layup. The Cardinals then scored the final 15 points of the half.
The Jackrabbits were limited to 16 points in the second half.

Louisville is the second ranked team the Jackrabbits have played this season and the 27
th since the 2006-07 season. SDSU is now 6-21 vs. ranked opponents.
