Upcoming Event: Men's Basketball versus Mayville State (Exhibition) on October 29, 2025 at 8:30 p.m.

2/24/2016 5:29:00 PM | Men's Basketball
The final road games in the books, South Dakota State returns home for its final two games, starting on Thursday against longtime rival North Dakota State. The Jackrabbits and Bison tip at 7 p.m., from Frost Arena.
The Jackrabbits dropped out of first place in the league standings last Thursday night with a 97-79 loss at Fort Wayne, but they bounced back with a dominating 87-67 win at Western Illinois on Saturday, and a win tonight could lock up at least a No. 2 seed at The Summit League Championships in March. SDSU could still get the top seed at the tournament, but would need to win, and get some help along the way.
More than just playing for seeding, the Jacks hope to keep its home winning streak going. Winners of 27 straight home games, they enter Thursday's game tied with Stephen F. Austin for the third-longest home steak in the nation.
THE OPPONENT
NORTH DAKOTA STATE BISON (18-10, 8-6 Summit, 4-9 Away): The Bison come to Brookings riding a two game winning streak after downing Western Illinois, 63-54, last Thursday and IUPUI, 63-54, last Saturday, both at home.
NDSU boasts a solid 7-1 league record at home this season, but comes to Frost Arena with a 1-5 mark in league road games, with the lone win coming at Western Illinois on Jan. 23.
Currently tied with IUPUI for fourth in the league standings, the Bison close the season on Saturday at Denver.
THE SERIES vs. NORTH DAKOTA STATE
Thursday's game marks the 215th meeting between the two schools, with NDSU holding a 115-99 advantage in the series overall and a 95-84 edge in conference play. SDSU leads the series 27-15 in games played at Frost Arena.
