CONWAY, Ark. – South Dakota State softball's bid for a winning streak came up short on Sunday morning in the final game of the Central Arkansas Invitational, as the Jackrabbits fell 9-1 to the ULM Warhawks in the final game of the tournament.
The loss drops the Jacks to 3-12 on the season, while ULM improves to 10-4.
SDSU struck first, getting an Abbey Murphy double in the top of the first inning that scored Christian McKone, who drew a walk to open the inning, but that represented the Jacks lone run and lone hit in the ball game.
ULM fired back with three runs in the bottom of the first, adding two more in the second and four in the fourth to secure the 9-1, five inning victory.
The Jacks return to action on Sunday, March 6, in the first of 10 contests at the Rebel Spring Games in Winter Haven, Fla. The Jacks begin against Akron at 10:15 a.m., and the cap the first day against Sacred Heart at 12:30 p.m.
