A South?Dakota State win in its only game of the week, along with a 1-1 week from Fort Wayne and 0-2 weeks form both Omaha and IUPUI put the Jackrabbits alone atop The Summit League standings entering play this week, which starts with the Jackrabbits traveling to Omaha to take on the Mavericks on?Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The?Jacks downed IUPUI, 80-58, in the 44th Annual Pork Classic, the only game of the week for SDSU, which enters the game in search of its 20th win of the season, which would mark the 23rd 20-win season in program history, the 12th under head coach Scott Nagy, the second consecutive and the fourth in the last five years.
Omaha looks to snap its first losing streak since the last game of November and the first game in December, and avoid losing three in a row for the first time this season.Â
THE OPPONENT
OMAHA MAVERICKS (15-10, 7-4 Summit, 6-4 Home): The Mavericks closed out the first half of league play tied atop the league standings, but dropped three of their last four games to fall into a tie for third place with IUPUI to start the week.
Omaha followed up its loss in?Brookings on Jan. 28, with a win at home over South Dakota, but dropped a pair of games last week, falling 83-76 at Western Illinois on Wednesday and 75-72 at home to Denver on?Saturday.   Â
THE SERIES vs. OMAHA
SDSU leads the all-time series 54-30, with a 6-1 lead in Summit League play. Wednesday's game marks the first-ever meeting at the new Baxter Arena.
