First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard, the exclusive sponsor for the Jacks Bash Kickoff Celebration concert, recently announced the opening acts for the show. Award-winning acts Little Big Town and Lee Brice will join country music superstar, Luke Bryan, to perform at the new Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium on Thursday, September 8 – two days before the South Dakota State University football team takes the field for the first time in the new venue, hosting Drake University.
The addition of Little Big Town and Lee Brice to the Jacks Bash lineup comes in advance of one of the biggest weekends in country music, the 51st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which will broadcast live from Las Vegas on CBS this Sunday, April 3rd. Luke Bryan is the co-host of the show, will perform on the show, and is also nominated for two awards, including the most-coveted "Entertainer of the Year" award.
Little Big Town is nominated for five awards this year, including their 10th nomination for "Vocal Group of the Year." Little Big Town is also nominated for the prestigious "Song of the Year" and "Single of the Year" awards for "Girl Crush," a song that has already received numerous industry honors. Jacks Bash's other recent addition, Lee Brice, is the academy's previous back-to-back winner in the "Song of the Year" category for "I Don't Dance" in 2015 and for "I Drive Your Truck" in 2014.
"You can't get a bigger show in the country with the line-up of these acts," said Justin Sell, SDSU director of athletics. "This really will be a historic moment in time for the Jackrabbit Nation as we celebrate the opening of the new Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium."
Jacks Bash, the kickoff celebration is a joint effort by SDSU and South Dakota based First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard. Organizers are expecting more than 25,000 people for the private event.
Exclusive pre-sale opportunities are available to SDSU students starting April 8 at 8 a.m. and football season ticket holders starting on April 15 at 8 a.m. A limited number of concert tickets will be available to the general public beginning April 29 at 10 a.m. Information on those pre-sales, as well as the public on-sale can be found at DanaJDykhouseStadium.com.
