SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A week after closing the regular season against Oral Roberts in Brookings, South Dakota State takes on the Golden Eagles again, this time in the quarterfinal round of The Summit League Championships in Sioux Falls.
The Jackrabbits won 73-65 last week to complete the season sweep, which gives SDSU five straight wins in the series, which started with ORU winning the first four games in Summit League play, until the Jackrabbits snapped that skid in their first-ever Summit League Tournament game on March 7, 2009, when the seventh-seeded Jacks erased a nine point deficit to force overtime, where they prevailed 72-69 over the No. 2 seed Golden Eagles.
THE OPPONENT
ORAL ROBERTS GOLDEN EAGLES (18-12, 8-8 Summit, 2-0 Neutral): The Golden Eagles entered the final weekend of the regular season with a chance to earn anywhere from a No. 6-8 seed, but ended up with the No. 7 seed at the tournament after South Dakota's loss at Western Illinois dropped them into the eighth seed, giving ORU the seven.
THE SERIES vs. ORAL ROBERTS
Series tied 8-8, with the Jackrabbits winning each of the last five meetings, which includes an 86-74 win in Tulsa, Okla., on Jan. 21, and a 73-65 win last Saturday at Frost Arena.
