GREELEY, Colorado—Playing three 30-minute halves, the South Dakota State women's soccer team lost 1-0 to Northern Colorado in an exhibition match Friday night at Jackson Stadium.
The Jacks and Bears were tied for the first 62 minutes before Sydney Schroeder scored.
Senior Nicole Inskeep started the match, playing the first 47 minutes and making two saves. Freshman Maggie Smither made three saves in the final 43 minutes of action.
SDSU had 10 shots, five on goal while the Bears had 13 shots, seven on goal.
The Jackrabbits open the 2016 season Aug. 19 when they host Utah State at 6 p.m. at Fishback Park.
