South Dakota State continues its stay at the Cayman Islands Classic in George Town, Grand Cayman Tuesday when it takes on Iowa at 11 a.m. CT / Noon ET.

The 2017 Cayman Islands Classic is a three-day, eight-team tournament that runs Nov. 20-22. Games are played at John Gray Gymnasium.

The Jackrabbits lost to Wyoming in the first round, and the showdown with Iowa is in the consolation bracket. The week's third opponent is yet to be determined with Buffalo, UAB, Richmond and Cincinnati on the other side of the tournament bracket.

About South Dakota State
The Jackrabbits 3-2 to start the year and will look to stop a two-game skid Tuesday against the Hawkeyes. After opening the season with wins against UC Irvine, Mary and Alabama State, South Dakota State has fallen in consecutive games at No. 4 Kansas, 98-64, and against Wyoming, 77-65.

SDSU entered the 2017-18 campaign as the Summit League's preseason top pick after earning the league's automatic bid a year ago to the NCAA Tournament. The Jackrabbits return four starters and eight letterwinners from a year ago, with seven newcomers on the roster.

The Summit League Preseason Player of the Year
Mike Daum is the nation's top returning scorer and is off to another fast start, averaging a team-best 19.0 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per contest. He has three double-doubles in the first four games of the campaign and has reached double figures in every contest.

David Jenkins Jr. has established himself as a go-to scorer early in his college career, dropping 13-11-20-10 in his first four games He sits second on the team with a 12.6 scoring average.

Reed Tellinghuisen is averaging double figures as well (10.4 ppg) with 32 total rebounds and led the team with 16 points and three 3-pointers against Wyoming.

The Jackrabbits are scoring 73.2 points per game and are plus-four in scoring margin. SDSU is plus-6.6 in rebounding averages on the year and holds a 1.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.

About Iowa
Iowa (3-1) dropped its first game of the season Monday against Louisiana-Lafayette, falling 80-71 in the first round of the Cayman Islands Classic.

The Hawkeyes are averaging 85.8 points per game as a team and hold a plus-17.3 scoring margin through four games, shooting a combined 48.7 percent from the field.

Iowa is forcing 15.3 turnovers per game (compared to its own average of 13.5 tpg) and boasts a 1.4 assist-to-turnover team ratio.

Five Hawkeye players are averaging double figures in points, led by Isaiah Moss' 16.3 points per game mark. Jordan Bohannon (12.5 ppg), Tyler Cook (10.8 ppg), Jack Nunge (10.4 ppg) and Luka Garza (10.0 ppg) are in double digits as well.

Tuesday's showdown with Iowa is the second of four Power Five matchups for the Jackrabbits this season. SDSU faced Kansas Nov. 17, and still has Ole Miss and Colorado on the docket.

South Dakota State has five wins over Power Five programs since joining The Summit League in 2007, picking up wins over Iowa State (2008), Iowa (2010), Washington (2011), TCU (2015) and Minnesota (2015).
