The South Dakota State track and field program will travel to California this weekend to compete in three meets.

The Jacks will compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational Apr. 13-14 in Azusa, California. Running events will begin on Thursday with the men's and women's 5,000-meter run and steeplechases. On Friday, field events will begin at 8:00 a.m. PST (10:00 a.m. CDT) with the women's long jump. Running events are set to begin at 9:00 a.m. PST (11:00 a.m. CDT) with the men's 4x100-meter relay followed by the women's 4x100-meter relay.

Some Jackrabbit student-athletes will be competing at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate meet hosted by Long Beach State University on Thursday. Field events begin at 10:30 a.m. PST (12:30 p.m. CDT) with the men's high jump, and track events are set to begin at 1 p.m. PST (3 p.m. CDT) with the women's 4x100-meter relay. Several South Dakota State distance runners will also be competing at the Mt. SAC Relays Apr. 13-14 in Torrance, California.
Chase Cayo and
Trevor Capra will compete in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday night at 6:40 p.m. PST (8:40 p.m. CDT).
Rachel King is scheduled to compete Friday in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 7:25 p.m. PST (9:25 p.m. CDT) and the 5,000-meter run at 9:35 p.m. PST (11:35 p.m. CDT).
Joel Reichow will compete in the 5,000-meter run Friday night at 8:20 p.m. PST (10:20 p.m. CDT).

There will also be a number of student athletes competing in Aberdeen, S.D., at Northern State Thursday evening at the NSU Twilight. A full schedule can be found on the

Nine South Dakota State student-athletes currently rank in the top-100 nationally.
On the women's side,
Rachel King currently sits at the fifth best performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:14.08) on the season in NCAA Division I. Kasie Vollmer's discus throw of 168-06 currently ranks 45th in the nation.
Silvia Zanini ranks 83rd in the hammer throw (184-08) and 90th in the discus throw (160-09).
On the men's side,Â
Joel Reichow has the 20th fastest time in the 10,000-meter run, with a time of 28:56.24.
Reagan Francom is tied for 53rd in the pole vault, clearing a mark of 16-06.75.
Bryant Courter is tied for 53rd with a long jump distance of 24-03.75. With a distance of 49-08.25,
Josh Dotson is currently tied for 62nd in the triple jump.
Sam Zenner is tied for 81st nationally with a time of 10.51 in the 100-meter dash.
Colton Bender ranks 77th in the hammer throw with a distance of 196-01.
