Previewing the Game
South Dakota State continues its three-game homestand Tuesday against Omaha. Tipoff against the Mavericks is set for 7 p.m. inside Frost Arena.

The Jackrabbits (18-6, 6-1 Summit League) are coming off a 78-76 win over Fort Wayne in the 2018 Pork Classic Saturday after having their eight-game winning streak snapped last Wednesday at South Dakota. The Jacks current sit first in Summit League action through the first half of league play, one-half game ahead of USD. Seven games remain in the regular season for SDSU, with four of them set to be played inside Frost Arena.

Omaha (7-16, 2-5 Summit League) have dropped two straight entering the week, falling at home against South Dakota Jan. 20 and on the road to North Dakota State last Thursday. The Mavericks are 2-3 in their last five games and currently sit seventh in The Summit League standings, one game ahead of Western Illinois and one back of Fort Wayne and Oral Roberts.

SDSU holds a 55-32 lead in the all-time series and has won three straight, including a 101-88 victory in Omaha earlier this month. The Jacks are 29-14 at home against the Mavericks, but dropped last year's contest, 101-93, inside Frost Arena.

The Jackrabbits are 11-0 at home this season and have won 16 straight inside Frost Arena, currently the nation's fifth-longest active home winning streak.

The Summit League Preseason Player of the Year Mike Daum is the nation's top returning scorer and has picked up where he left off in 2016-17, averaging a team-best 22.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest. He has 12 double-doubles on the campaign and has reached double figures in all but one game, including seven 30-point performances.

Daum has been named the Summit League's Player of the Week five times, and was named the Summit League's Athlete of the Month for November and December.

In league play, the Kimball, Nebraska native is averaging a double-double of 25.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 94 percent at the charity stripe.

David Jenkins Jr. has made his presence known in his first season at the collegiate level, sitting second on the team with 15.3 points per game and 19 double figure scoring performances. He has led the team in scoring three times and is shooting 42.8 percent from the field. Jenkins has reached the 20-point mark in seven games, including a 31-point performance at Colorado where he drilled seven 3-pointers.

The Tacoma, Washington native leads the Jackrabbits with 61 total 3-pointers this season (ahead of Mike Daum's 60), firing at a clip of 41.7 percent.

Reed Tellinghuisen is third on the team in scoring and has provided big numbers of late, reaching double figures in 15 of the last 17 games. His season averages of 13.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game both rank third on the team while the senior is shooting an impressive 51.6 percent from the field.

The Sac City, Iowa native is 48-for-113 (42.5 percent) from beyond the arc, and has scored 20 or more in two Summit League games, finishing with 22 at NDSU and 24 against ORU.

Tevin King is putting up 9.5 points per game, just below double figures while grabbing 123 total rebounds, second-most on the squad. He has 63 assists and a team-best 40 steals while shooting 52.8 percent from the field. From Chicago, King has scored 10 or more in 13 games this season, including a 15-point performance at Omaha on Jan. 6.

The NCAA's Jan. 28 stats release has the Jackrabbits 12th in scoring offense at 85.9 points per game with a plus-10.3 scoring margin. SDSU is shooting 48 percent as a team and 41.5 percent from deep, good enough for 10th nationally.

Through seven Summit League games, State is scoring 96.3 points per game and is plus-eight in scoring margin. The Jackrabbits are also 114-for-138 as a team (82.6 percent) from the free throw line in league play.

About Omaha
Omaha is led by four double-figure scorers, with Zach Jackson (18.1 points per game) pacing the team. Jackson is shooting 53.1 percent from the field and has hit 31-of-72 from deep. He is an 81.2 percent free throw shooter (95-of-117) and is second on the team with 6.7 rebounds per contest. The guard has also come up with 27 steals on the season and has dished out 23 assists in 31.5 minutes per contest.

Daniel Norl, alongside Jackson, has started all 23 games for the Mavericks and is second in scoring with 12.9 points per game. He is shooting 46.4 percent from the field and is second on the team with 35 3-pointers on the campaign. Norl is averaging 3.8 rebounds per contest and has dished out a team-high 66 assists, joining JT Gibson (65) and KJ Robinson (62) in plus-60 assists territory.

Mitch Hahn (11.7 ppg) and Gibson (11.3 ppg) round out the top scorers for Omaha, with Hahn making his return to the lineup last Thursday after missing nearly two months with a shoulder injury. Hahn is shooting 32.2 percent from the field and despite his absence leads the team with 7.3 rebounds per game.

Gibson is hitting at a clip of 44.4 percent from the field and leads the team with 46 3-pointers (out of 125 attempts). He is also shooting 86.2 percent at the charity stripe and has 24 steals on the season.

The Mavericks are averaging 78.3 points per game as a team and shooting 46.7 percent combined. Defensively, Omaha is allowing 83.8 points on average and teams are shooting 47.2 percent against them.

Derrin Hansen is in his 13th year leading the Mavericks and holds a 204-182 record at the helm.

Daum On Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has announced its midseason watch list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, with Mike Daum listed among 14 NCAA Division I standouts. Daum was also on the preseason list.

The award is presented to the national player of the year by its namesake at the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio.

Balloting for the USBWA's All-America Team, All-District Teams and the association's individual awards will take place in March. The Oscar Robertson Trophy will be presented at a news conference on Friday, March 30, at the Final Four in San Antonio.

Jenkins Honored by Summit League
South Dakota State's David Jenkins Jr. has been named the Summit League's Player of the Week, announced Jan. 22.

Jenkins led all scorers with 27 points in SDSU's 98-70 win at Western Illinois, shooting 69.2 percent (9-for-13) from the field with four 3-pointers and a 5-for-5 effort at the charity stripe. He added six boards and an assist over 30 minutes.

It was the seventh 20-point game of the season for the Tacoma, Washington native, who is sixth nationally in total points among all NCAA Division I freshman.

Jenkins' recognition continues a hot streak for the Jackrabbits in weekly awards, as a South Dakota State student-athlete has now claimed the award three weeks in a row and in five of the last six announcements.

Daum Named December Athlete of the Month
Mike Daum was named the Summit League's December Male Athlete of the Month, announced Jan. 9.

Daum, who was also the November honoree, averaged 23.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in that span, shooting 51.5 percent from the field. Beyond the arc, he hit 22-of-45 attempts and at the charity stripe buried 29 of his 37 free throws.

The junior was a two-time Player of the Week selection in the month and reached double figures in seven of eight starts. He had three double-doubles in the month and five games with 20 or more points, including a trio of 30-point efforts. The Kimball, Nebraska native shot over 50 percent in the final six games, including a 5-for-7 (71.4 percent) game at UMKC.

He is the first men's basketball player to receive the award in consecutive months since Wolters in 2013.

Flatten Granted Sixth Year by NCAA
South Dakota State's Skyler Flatten was granted a sixth-year of eligibility Friday from the NCAA. Flatten, who entered the 2017-18 season as a senior, is now eligible to return to the Jackrabbit basketball program for the 2018-19 season.

Flatten, who missed all of 2015-16 due to injury, has appeared in 82 games for the Jackrabbits, averaging 5.0 points and 1.9 rebounds per game for his career.

This season, the Clark, South Dakota native is posting a career-high 7.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, starting 20 of 24 contests. He is shooting 49.2 percent from the field and leads The Summit League with a 52.6 3-point field goal percentage, hitting 41-of-78.

Daum on Lou Henson Award mid-season Watch List
South Dakota State's Mike Daum was one of 40 players listed on the 2017-18 Lou Henson Award mid-season Watch List, announced Jan. 11.

The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player.

The 2017-18 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award will be announced on March 31, 2018 at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Event in San Antonio, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.

Daum Racks Up Weekly Honors
Mike Daum earned his fourth Summit League Player of the Week nod of the season Jan. 8. Daum is an eight-time Summit League Player of the Week for his career, the fourth-most all-time in league history.

Jan. 16 -- Averaged a double-double over two wins with 30.5 points and 10 rebounds per contest. The junior shot 55.9 percent from the field, hit 8-of-13 from deep and buried 15 of his 16 free throw attempts. Scored 27 with 12 rebounds against Oral Roberts and had 34 points with eight boards against Denver.
Jan. 8 -- Averaged a double-double of 32 points and 13 rebounds over two wins last week, shooting 51.3 percent from the field while going 22-for-22 at the charity stripe. He started the week with a 37-point, 15-rebound performance at North Dakota State, hitting 10 field goals while going a perfect 16-for-16 on free throws. He followed with his 19th career double-double on Saturday, dropping 27 points with 11 rebounds at Omaha while pushing his consecutive free throw streak to 22.
Dec. 26 -- Averaged a double-double over two starts, putting up 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game alongside a 61.3 field goal percentage. Started the week with a 35-point, 14-rebound double-double against Drake on Dec. 19. He matched his career-high of 14 field goals and hit four 3-pointers in the game. Daum added 12 points and seven rebounds at UMKC (Dec. 22), going 5-for-7 from the field.
Dec. 18 -- Averaged a double-double over two starts, with 31 points and 11 rebounds per contests. Scored 37 points with 12 rebounds at Colorado (Dec. 15) and had 25 points with 10 boards against North Dakota (Dec. 12).
Nov. 20 -- Posted double-doubles in both games, averaging 25.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest. He shot 50 percent from the field (16 of 32) and hit eight 3-pointers while going 11-for-13 at the charity stripe. Notched his 13th career 30-point game against Alabama State (11/14) to go along with 13 rebounds while adding 21 points and 11 rebounds against Kansas (11/17).

Let It Rain
South Dakota State's 3-point offense ranks among the nation's best for the second-straight season, as the team is third the nation in 3-pointers made and is 13th in attempts for the Jan. 28th stats release. The Jacks are 10th nationally with 11.0 3-pointers per game and a 41.5 long range shooting percentage.

Last season, the Jacks had three players that hit 60 or more 3-pointers last season, including two returners in Mike Daum (79) and Reed Tellinghuisen (74). That duo ranked 13th nationally among active returning duos in combined 3-pointers from a year ago. State has three already with 40 or more 3-pointers this year: David Jenkins Jr. (61), Mike Daum (60) and Reed Tellinghuisen (48). All three rank among the nation's best, with Jenkins sitting 52nd.
Through 24 games last season, SDSU was 228-for-631 beyond the arc. This year, the Jacks are 264-for-636 from long distance.
Nov. 28 saw the Jackrabbits reset the school's Division I record for 3-pointers made and attempted in a game for the third (makes) and fourth (attempts) time, going 18-for-41 beyond the arc.
Since the arrival of T.J. Otzelberger, the Jacks now hold all of the top five spots in the record book for 3-pointers made in a Division I game, and hold all but one of the spots in the top five of attempts.
The Otzelberger-led Jackrabbits have hit 14 or more 3-pointers in 11 games over the last two seasons, and prior to his arrival a State team had hit 14 or more 3-pointers in just six games.
Through the first 12 seasons of Division I basketball (starting in the first transition year of 2003-04), SDSU had 71 games of 10 or more 3-pointers, with a max of 13 in one season (2010-13). The Jackrabbits did it 13 times last year and this season has already hit 10 or more 3-pointers in 15 games.
Under T.J., the Jackrabbits have attempted 30 or more 3-pointers in a game 12 times. The Pre-Otzelberger era Jackrabbit teams did it on 11 total occasions since the adoption of the 3-point line in 1986. It happened three times at the Division I level and eight times between 2003-04 and 2015-16, the last season Scott Nagy led the program.

Tough Tests
South Dakota State played five Power Five (ACC, SEC, Big 12, Big 10, Pac-12) opponents this season and has two wins those games.

The Jackrabbits knocked off Ole Miss (Nov. 28) in overtime after a win over Iowa (Nov. 21) at the Cayman Islands Classic.

SDSU also faced Kansas (Nov. 17) and Colorado (Dec. 15) in addition to a road matchup at then-No. 6 Wichita State (a member of the American Athletic Conference), with narrow losses against the Shockers and Buffaloes. At WSU, the Jacks led for over 28 minutes of game action, but a late charge helped the Shockers defend their home court. SDSU charged back from an early deficit in Colorado to force overtime, but could not pull off the comeback in a double overtime affair that saw SDSU play just eight Jackrabbits in 50 minutes of game action.

South Dakota State has seven wins over Power Five programs since joining The Summit League in 2007, picking up wins over Iowa State (2008), Iowa (2010 and 2017), Washington (2011), TCU (2015), Minnesota (2015) and Ole Miss (2017).

SDSU's wins over Iowa and Ole Miss this season came in the shortest time frame of any Summit League team since 1998 (seven days). The Jackrabbits are the fifth league team to post a win over separate Power Five conferences in the same regular season, and the first to do it since 2009.

Jenkins Jr. Named National Freshman of the Week
CBS Sports and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association have named South Dakota State's David Jenkins Jr. as the National Freshman of the Week, announced Dec. 19 on CBSSports.com.

Jenkins averaged 23 points, four 3-pointers, four rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last week, shooting 47.2 percent from the field with an 8-for-17 effort from long range.

He made the most of his first career start against North Dakota on Dec. 12, playing 29 minutes with 15 points and a career-high seven rebounds in a 99-63 Jackrabbit victory.

The 6-2 guard continued his hot play against Colorado last Friday, breaking the school's Division I freshman single-game scoring mark with 31 while burying seven 3-pointers, tied for fourth-most in a Division I game at SDSU. He teamed with Mike Daum to become the first duo in the school's Division I history to each have 30 or more points in the same game.

Daum Named November Athlete of the Month
South Dakota State's Mike Daum was selected as the Summit League's November Male Athlete of the Month, announced Dec. 7 by the conference office.

Daum helped the Jacks to a 7-2 record through the opening part of the season and averaged a near-double-double, posting 20.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while hitting 22 3-pointers. The Kimball, Nebraska native scored in double figures for all nine contests, including two 30-point performances and five games with 20 or more.

The forward had three consecutive double-doubles from Nov. 12-17, racking up 22 points and 13 rebounds against Mary and 30 points with 13 rebounds against Alabama State before closing the streak with a 21-point, 11-board performance at then-No. 3 Kansas.

Tacoma Talent
Tacoma, Washington native David Jenkins Jr. has burst on the scene through his first month of collegiate basketball, racking up 366 points and 61 3-pointers through 24 games. He has hit at least two 3-pointers in 19 contests and on Dec. 15 at Colorado set the school's freshman single-game scoring record at the Division I level with 31.

The lone West coach native on the Jackrabbit roster has reached double figures in 19 games, becoming the first freshman to accomplish the feat at SDSU since Steve Holdren did it in 16 of his first 23 appearances in 2004-05. Holdren finished the season with 19 double-figure performances over 26 games that year.

Jenkins and Holdren are also the only two Jackrabbit freshmen to lead the team in scoring in their first collegiate game over the last 17 years (dating back to 2000-01 when game-by-game stats were readily available).

Jenkins is second on the team with 15.3 points per game in 2017-18 and has shot 42.8 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from long distance.

He was named the National Freshman of the Week by CBS Sports and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Dec. 19 after averaging 23 points, four 3-pointers, four rebounds and 1.5 steals per game over two games that week.

He is on pace to challenge Mike Daum's freshman scoring record of 518 points, set in 2015-16. Jenkins has 366 points through 24 games, compared to Daum's 323 points in that span.

Fellow Tacoma native Isaiah Thomas, currently with the Cleveland Cavaliers, had 389 points and 21 double figure games through 24 games of his freshman year at Washington.

Jenkins scored over 2,000 points in his high school career before spending a year at Sunrise Christian Academy Prep School. He was named as a newcomer to watch in The Summit League by TheAthletic.com's John Rohde.

As of Jan. 29 Jenkins sits eighth among Division I freshmen this season in total points.

Daum, Tellinghuisen Continue Rise on Scoring Chart
Mike Daum rose to No. 3 on the Jackrabbit scoring chart in just 88 career games, passing Austin Hansen (1,815) and Lee Colburn (1,822) at Omaha Jan. 6. Daum passed Mark Tetzlaff (1,931) for the second spot in 93 career games on Jan. 27 and now has 1,941 career points. He is 422 points shy of Nate Wolters (2,363; 2009-13) for the top spot.

Reed Tellinghuisen joined the top 25 in all-time scoring Dec. 12, and is currently 17th with 1,334 career points. He is less than 125 points from the top 10 after joining the 1,000 points club in The Summit League Tournament last season.

#FearFrost
The Jacks own an 85-5 record at Frost Arena over the last six seasons dating back to 2011-12, which includes perfect home records in four of the last five years entering the current season. That span includes two home winning streaks of 30 or more games.

South Dakota State won 34 consecutive games from Jan. 30, 2014 to Dec. 28, 2016. It ended as the nation's second longest active streak.
The Jackrabbits won 30 consecutive home games from Jan. 29, 2011 to Nov. 14, 2013.
SDSU put together undefeated seasons inside Frost Arena the following years: 1984-85 (18-0), 2002-03 (17-0), 2011-12 (14-0), 2012-13 (13-0), 2014-15 (13-0), and 2015-16 (12-0). SDSU is 11-0 at home this year.
Since 2011-12, South Dakota State has won 94.4 percent of its home games, a mark that ranks third among all Division I programs.

Dynamic Duo
Teammates Mike Daum and Reed Tellinghuisen are back after leading the team in scoring a year ago, and rank among the nation's best as a scoring duo with over 3,200 points between them in their careers. The Jacks are third in total career points as a pair as of Jan. 22, 2018.

Team Quick Hits

Mike Daum and David Jenkins Jr. became the first Jackrabbit duo in Division I to score 30 or more points in the same game when the pair went for 37 and 31, respectively at Colorado Dec. 15.
South Dakota State has scored 100 or more four times this season. Prior to the Jackrabbits' 103-67 win over Concordia (Neb.), the previous 100-point game for SDSU was Feb. 28, 2013. The last time SDSU had two or more 100-point games in a season was 2011-12, when the Jackrabbits did it twice. The Division I program record for 100-point games in a season is five, set in 2004-05 and the overall program record is six, set in 1997-98, 1991-92 and 1968-69.
The Jackrabbits have passed the 90-point mark 11 times this season and have scored 80 or more in 16 games.
The Jacks are 14-2 when winning the rebounding battle and 4-4 when being out-rebounded or tied on the boards. Twice this year the Jacks have posted a plus-20 rebounding margin. SDSU was 16-1 when outrebounding its opponent last year and 2-16 in games with the same or fewer rebounds.
Seven Jackrabbits reached double figures at Western Illinois on Jan. 20 for the first time since Nov. 18, 2012 when SDSU did it against the District of Columbia.

From Jan. 31, 2009 through the 2013-14 season, SDSU put together a streak of 179 games with at least one 1,000 point scorer on the floor. Daum Named to Preseason Award Watch Lists
Mike Daum has earned a spot on three national award watch lists for the 2017-18 season, being named a preseason favorite for the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year, Oscar Robertson Player of the Year and Lute Olson Player of the Year awards.

The Karl Malone Award is presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Named after Hall of Famer and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Karl Malone, the annual honor in its fourth year recognizes the top power forwards in Division I men's college basketball. By mid-February, the watch list of 20 players for the 2018 Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award will be narrowed to just 10. In March, five finalists will be presented to Mr. Malone and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. The winner of the 2018 Karl Malone Award will be presented at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show presented by Wendy's in Los Angeles, CA on Friday, April 6, 2018.
Daum was selected as one of 32 players on the 2017-18 Oscar Robertson Trophy Preseason Watch List, announced Nov. 6 by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. The award is presented to the national player of the year by its namesake at the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio. In mid-March, the USBWA will announce its 2017-18 All-America Team and, at that time, finalists will also be chosen for the player of the year. Once finalists are announced, the entire USBWA membership will vote for the winner of the Oscar Robertson Trophy.
He was announced as one of 40 selections on the CollegeInsider.com Lute Olson Award Watch List Nov. 6 as well. The Lute Olson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I player who has played at least two seasons. The 2017-18 Lute Olson National Player of the Year Award will be announced on March 31, 2018 at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Event in San Antonio, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.

Jacks Remain Sixth in Mid-Major Top 25
The Jackrabbits held steady at No. 6 in the latest College Sports Madness Mid-Major poll, released Jan. 22 by the organization.

The Jackrabbits were sixth last week and seventh the week prior after moving into the top 10. SDSU has been in the top 25 for 11 off 12 polls this season.

The latest edition of the poll features 2017-18 opponents South Dakota (No. 9), Buffalo (No. 11), Missouri State (No. 16) and Drake (RV-48).

SDSU Signs Three
Owen King, Aaron Fiegen and Matthew Mimms signed their National Letters of Intent to join South Dakota State, announced Nov. 11 on National Signing Day.

King (Caledonia, Minnesota) averaged 19 points, five rebounds and six assists per game as a junior for Caledonia High School. He enters his senior season as the school's all-time leading scorer (1,925 points) and in December was named Minnesota's Associated Press High School Football Player of the Year.
Fiegen (Madison, South Dakota) was a First Team All-State pick last year, averaging 15.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game in 2016-17.
Mimms (Fairfax, Iowa) is a two-time Iowa State Champion with Xavier High School. He averaged 15.5 points, five assists and 2.3 steals per game as a junior.

Jacks Fifth at Cayman Islands Classic
South Dakota State took fifth at the inaugural Cayman Islands Classic, closing the tournament with wins over Iowa and Buffalo after falling in its first game to Wyoming.

Reed Tellinghuisen was named to the Cayman Classic All-Tournament Team, averaging 12.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Mike Daum led all Jackrabbits with 54 total points at the tournament, hitting double figures all three games, including a season-best 34 against Buffalo.

David Jenkins Jr. shot 41.2 percent (7 of 17) beyond the arc, adding 14.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while Tevin King, playing 26.3 minutes per game, dished out five assists, came up with eight steals, scored 31 points (10.3 ppg) and grabbed 17 rebounds (5.7 per game).

No. 12 Cincinnati won the tournament, beating Wyoming in the finals.

Preseason All-Conference Team; Jacks Picked First
Mike Daum and Reed Tellinghuisen made repeat appearances on the Summit League's Preseason All-League teams, announced early-October. Daum was the Preseason Player of the Year with First Team honors while Tellinghuisen picked a Second Team nod for the second straight season.

Daum is the second Jackrabbit to be named Preseason All-Conference and the first to do it twice, joining Nate Wolters (2012-13).

As a team, South Dakota State was picked to win the league for the fourth time in program history.

SDSU Last Time Out (Jan. 27, 2018)
South Dakota State pushed its home winning streak to 16 Saturday against Fort Wayne, pulling out a 78-76 victory in front of 3,536 fans at the 2018 Pork Classic.

SDSU (18-6, 6-1 Summit League) saw a 17-point halftime slip away in the second, but in the final minute of action used free throws and a defensive stop to seal the win.

Mike Daum led the Jacks with his 12th double-double of the season, scoring 23 points with 14 rebounds. He hit all of his free throw attempts.

Tevin King (11 points, 10 rebounds) posted his first career double-double and joined Daum as one of five Jackrabbits to reach double figures.

Skyler Flatten, who hit four 3-pointers, and Reed Tellinghuisen each finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, while David Jenkins Jr. had 10.

Fort Wayne (14-10, 3-4) was led by John Konchar's 23 points and nine boards.

State trailed early, 5-2, but scored eight unanswered to force a Mastodon timeout at 17:12 with a 10-5 lead.

SDSU held the momentum the rest of the half, and with nine minutes on the clock turned a four-point advantage into a 40-23 lead thanks to 17-4 rally that ended with nine unanswered.

The Jacks carried a 43-26 lead into the locker room, but out of halftime saw Fort Wayne chip away before tying it, 67-all, after a burst of seven unanswered at 5:42.

The next four minutes saw four lead changes before Flatten hit a 3-pointer at 1:32 that brought the crowd to its feet. Konchar, however, answered on the other end to put SDSU back in a hole, 76-75 with less than a minute to play.

Fort Wayne missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with 39.6 seconds left, and on the ensuing possession, Daum buried both of his attempts from the charity stripe.

Up by one, the Jacks buckled down on the defensive end and forced a contested 3-pointer from Fort Wayne that went array with eight seconds to play.

King hit 1-of-2 free throws on the other end, and a desperation heave by the 'Dons as time expired missed.

FARGO, N.D. -- The Omaha men's basketball team took to the road for its only game of the week Thursday night, falling 73-58 to North Dakota State at the Scheels Center.

Leaders for Omaha
Senior Daniel Norl posted a team-leading 13 points for Omaha, shooting 4-of-7 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 at the line. Sophomore KJ Robinson added 12 points and four rebounds, and junior Zach Jackson had 10 points, three boards and team highs of three assists and two steals.

Junior Mitch Hahn, making his first appearance since Dec. 5, returned to the starting lineup and finished with nine points, a team-best seven rebounds, an assist and a block.

Leaders for North Dakota State
Paul Miller's 25 points with seven rebounds and five assists paced NDSU, and Tyson Ward pitched in 17 points, five rebounds and three steals.

Team Stats
NDSU shot .464 (26-of-56) to Omaha's .426 (20-of-47) and had 11 threes for the night with a 10-of-10 showing at the line. The Bison had a 33-25 edge on the glass, including 10-5 on the offensive end, and took advantage with 15 second-chance points. Omaha committed 14 turnovers for the night, and the Bison capitalized with 20 points off miscues.

Inside the First Half
Omaha shot .545 (12-of-22) in the opening half, but the Bison got 15 points, five rebounds and four assists from Miller in the first 20 minutes. After NDSU led early, Omaha took the lead at 8-7 on back-to-back buckets from Robinson and Norl. The score stalled three times from there up to 16-16 at 9:48, after which NDSU went ahead for good.

While Omaha suffered a four-minute scoring drought from 7:05 to 2:40, the Bison built a 16-0 run. Though a late 9-0 run powered by five points from Hahn cut it to eight with under a minute left in the half, the Bison held a 43-33 lead at the intermission.

Inside the Second Half
The Mavericks were held to .320 (8-of-25) shooting in the second half. A 9-0 run midway through the half spurred the Bison to their largest lead at 58-39, and NDSU never allowed its lead to go under double digits the rest of the way.

Omaha is now 7-16 (2-5 Summit League) on the season, while the Bison improve to 11-10 (3-3).
