Dallas Goedert (Philadelphia Eagles) SDSU: 2014-17 Weekly Notes: Goedert did not play the fourth preseason match against the New York Jets on Thursday evening, a 10-9 win.

It appears the South Dakota State alum has firmly placed himself as the second-string tight end, expecting to see action throughout the NFL regular season.

 Season Notes: Scored his first touchdown in his debut preseason game, a 31-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers (Aug. 9) ... his most catches (four) and receiving yards (66) came in his preseason debut against the Steelers while his longest catch (28) came against the New England Patriots (Aug. 16) ... has gathered nine catches for 149 yards and one touchdown through three preseason games (132 offensive plays).
 Jacob Ohnesorge (Dallas Cowboys)SDSU: 2013-17 Weekly Notes: Ohnesorge earned the start in the fourth preseason game, a 14-6 loss to the Houston Texans last Thursday evening.

He played all 70 of the offensive snaps, gathering 253 net total offensive yards - 52 yards rushing and 201 yards through the air. The Jackrabbit alum helped the offense score three points on a four-play, 36-yard opening drive to begin the game.

The offense had an eight-play, 52-yard drive near the end of the game to add another three points, bringing the Cowboys within eight points, down 14-6.

He was waived by the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 1 and has not signed to a practice squad.

 Adam Vinatieri (Indianapolis Colts)SDSU: 1991-94 Weekly Notes: Vinatieri did not play in the 27-26 win over the Cincinnati Bengals last Thursday.

 Jake Wieneke (Minnesota Vikings) SDSU: 2014-17 Weekly Notes: Wieneke earned the start in the fourth preseason game, a 13-3 win over the Tennessee Titans. He played 66 (94 percent) of the offensive snaps for the Vikings, having two catches on three targets for 20 yards and a long of 13 yards.

His first catch came on a short pass to the right on a third-and-goal on the Titans' 11-yard line with 7:51 left to play in the third quarter. Wieneke leaped up and caught the ball immediately tackled for a seven-yard gain, four yards short of the endzone. The Vikings ended up making a field goal to take the 6-3 lead.

On the last play of the third quarter, Wieneke caught his 13-yard catch on a post pattern, two yards of a first down on first-and-fifteen.

Wieneke was waived by the Minnesota Vikings on Friday, Aug. 31 and has not been signed to a practice squad.

 Bryan Witzmann (Kansas City Chiefs) SDSU: 2010-13 Weekly Notes: Witzmann got the start at right tackle for the Chiefs in a 33-21 win over the Green Bay Packers last Thursday. Witzmann played all 68 snaps of the game with the offense gaining 397 total net yards - 71 yards on the ground and 326 yards through the air.

The offense scored on their first offensive series, a nine-play, 51-yard drive that ended with a three-yard passing touchdown to take the lead, 7-0, with 9:13 in the first quarter.

Witzmann and the Chiefs' offense scored one more touchdown during the game in the second quarter, a four-play, 75-yard drive that scored on a seven-yard pass to bring the team within four points, down 21-17 in the second quarter.

Kansas City also kick four field goals, with each drive nine or more plays and three out of the four going for more than 50 yards.

On Monday, Sept. 3, the Kansas City Chiefs released Bryan Witzmann and he has yet to find a new team.

 Zach Zenner (Detriot Lions) SDSU: 2011-14 Weekly Notes: Zenner received the start at running back in the fourth preseason game, a 35-17 loss to the Cleveland Browns last Thursday. The Jackrabbit alum played three plays on offense and one on special teams, being listed as out with a back injury early in the game.

Zenner finished the game with one rushing attempt for negative one yard. He also had one target during the first offensive drive for the Lions.

As of Tuesday morning (Sept. 4), he was listed on the injury report (back).
