SIOUX FALLS -- The South Dakota State swimming and diving team saw one first-place finish and five personal season-bests times--two of which were career-bests--through the first day at the Coyote Invite.
The lone victor from Friday's competition was
Rori Conners, swimming a personal season-best time of 5:15.53 in the 500 free. Her first-place finish was her second win of the season. The other personal season-best times came from
Ben Sieve in the 50 free (22.09) and
Libby McRae in the 500 free (5:34.41).
Parker R. Brown and
Richelle Bruyckere each swam career-best times Friday. Brown reset his PR in the 200 IM (2:03.59) and Bruyckere in the 100 fly (1:01.24).
This invite is the final competition before the Summit League Championships Feb. 20-23, and serves as a final tuneup for the swimmers and divers from SDSU, South Dakota and Omaha. Four non-league teams are also swimming at the invite, including DII school University of Sioux Falls, NJCAA school Iowa Central CC, and two NAIA schools College of Saint Mary and Morningside.
