The South Dakota State track and field teams took advantage of the final home competition before hosting The Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships, presented by the U.S. Air Force Special Ops, next weekend.

A total of 23 Jackrabbits (nine men, 14 women) scored a combined 26 personal-best marks (nine from the men, 17 from the women), including a school record and seven other all-time top-10 marks (five top-10 marks from the men, three from the women).

Sophomore
Trent Francom was the school-record breaker, resetting his personal-best and school-record mark in the pole vault (17-00.00) for the second time this season en route to his seventh career win out of 15 indoor events. He is the lone Jackrabbit to reach the 17-foot plateau, reaching it three total times in his young career (once indoors, twice outdoors). The school record has increased 5.25 inches this season, as Francom owns both the indoor and outdoor record mark.

Micayla TerWee came away with two top-three finishes on Friday evening, finishing second in the weight throw (58-00.25) and third in the shot put (45-03.75). It was her seventh career top-three finish in the indoor shot put and second career top-three in the weight throw - a personal-best mark by 10.25 inches that moves her into the No. 7 all-time mark.

Caleb Bray (49.19) and
Mitchel Acker (49.67) went 1-2 in the 400m with both of them reaching personal-best marks. It was Bray's fourth reset of the season, trimming 0.54 seconds off his last reset and 1.23 seconds from the start of the season. Acker cut 0.35 seconds in his second reset of the season.

Oksana Covey (57.21), who was just 0.02 seconds from her PR and No. 8 all-time mark. Teammates
Chloe Bermel (seventh, 59.52) and
Nichole Sample (eighth, 1:00.87) were able to reach personal-best marks.

Riley Sears recorded his second career win in th high jump (6-07.50) with a 0.75-inch PR increase while freshman
Addison Eisenbeisz won her first career high jump (5-07.00) by adding another inch to her PR and move to the No. 8 all-time mark.

Bryant Courter, who has SDSU's longest active winning streak in the indoor triple jump (7), added his seventh career indoor long jump win, his third of the season. On the women's side, sophomore

Emma Stewart (17-04.75) and Eisenbeisz (17-01.25) went runner-up and third behind Altenburg.

Altenburg also tried her hand in the 60m for the first time this season, fourth attempt of her career, finishing runner-up with a PR tie in the prelims (7.98) and a 0.03-second PR reset in the finals (7.95). She is 0.09 seconds from the school's 10th-best mark all-time and No. 2 on SDSU's season performance list.

Madisson Gay followed Altenburg in the 60m (fifth in the finals, 8.06), resetting her PR in the prelims (third in the prelims, 8.01) for the third consecutive week. Altenburg, Gay, and junior
Jennifer Thill went 1-2-3 in their respective preliminary heat.

Gay also added a 200m personal-best mark for the second consecutive week (T-fourth, 26.55) while it was Thill's third consecutive reset in the 200m (sixth, 26.62).

Logan Ammons increased his weight throw personal-best mark for the fourth time this season (third, 63-02.75) as he finished with his eighth career top-three finish. It was a 1-11.75-foot increase from the Dakota Realty (Feb. 2) and 4-08.75-foot increase since 2017 (redshirted indoor 2018).
The men's 800m runners went 1-2-3-4-5 as sophomore
Derek Boekelheide removed freshman
Riley Bauer's No. 10 all-time mark set last weekend at the SDSU Classic and added his name to the No. 10 all-time spot with a personal-best and second career indoor 800m win (1:53.09). Sophomore
Gabe Peters notched his second career 800m (both indoors), adding a personal-best mark by 1.10 seconds (fifth, 1:56.53). Â
