The native of Marshall, Minn. added yet another personal-best reset - his third in the event - to trim off 0.72 seconds since the start of the 2019 indoor season and entrench his name on South Dakota State's No. 2 all-time mark.

He won his third career indoor 200m (21.30) with teammate
Landon Larson - who reset his own PR in the 200m for the second time this season - right behind him in third (21.63). Both of them, along with the school-record holder
Sam Zenner, have the school's three fastest 200m marks - a record that had not been touched since 2011.

Larson is also entering tomorrow with the meet's fastest 60m preliminary mark (6.88), along with Hilton (fourth, 6.90), sophomore
Daniel Clarke (seventh, 6.95), and freshman
Emmanual Phoulom-Smith (eighth, 6.97) also winning their respective heats to qualify for the semi-finals tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. Each of them posted prelim marks that would be ranked in the school's top 10 if it were their personal-bests.

In the women's 60m and 200m, redshirt freshman
Madisson Gay (60m - 27th, 8.04 ... 200m - 42nd, 26.59) and freshman
Mikayla Wevik (60m - 30th, 8.05 ... 200m - 31st, 26.37) notched PR's in both events. Junior
Jennifer Thill (49th, 26.76) and freshman
Sydney Maher (91st, 28.63) also posted personal-best marks in the 200m.

Oksana Covey recorded the women's lone event win on the night, nearly resetting her personal-best and school-record mark in the 600m (1:32.84) - missing by 0.46 seconds. Giving Covey chase was senior
Krista Steele, who added her first 600m of the season (second, 1:34.95), and freshman
Nichole Sample, who reset her PR (28th, 1:41.53).

Trent Francom jump his way to his sixth career indoor pole vault victory (16-08.75) - just two inches short of his recently added PR and school-record mark (last week at the Dakota Realty).

In the prelims of the 60m hurdles, freshman
Reid Pierzinski tied his personal-best mark (10th, 8.38) en route to qualifying for the semi-finals tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. along with teammate
Nick Wessels (14th, 8.46).

For the women, both juniors
Jaymie O'Connor (second, 8.69) and
Haley Mottinger (eighth, 9.19) qualified for the semi-finals scheduled for 2:45 p.m.
The 3,000m wrapped up the opening night with four personal-best marks on the men's side (So.
Gabe Peters - fifth, 8:32.19 ... R-Fr.
Michael Schwinghamer - sixth, 8:32.40 ... So.
Evan Fick - ninth, 8:37.56 ... and Fr.
Lukas Pierson 17th, 8:50.83) and another on the women's side (So.
Jamie Schweiss - 15th, 10:19.32). For the men, the school's No. 10 mark is 10:24.54, so they keep inching closer.
