New Underwood High School product Cerington Jones signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on South Dakota State's women's track and field team. The five-time South Dakota Class B champion took the top place in the long jump in 2017 and the 400m in 2019. She was also a member of the winning 4x400 in 2016 and 2017 and the 4x200 in 2019. Jones was named conference MVP in 2017 and earned Female Athlete of the Year award. She holds PRs of 12.74 in the 100, 25.34 in the 200, 57.91 in the 400, 17-5.00 in long jump and 4-11 in the high jump.
