South Dakota State softball travels to Madeira, Florida for three neutral site games and a 10-game stay at THE Spring Games, March 6-14.

The Jackrabbits will play 11 different teams throughout their spring break trip, beginning Friday against Florida Gulf Coast and Iowa. The Jacks face Loyola Chicago and Holy Cross Sunday, and Merrimack and Ohio Monday before an off-day in the Sunshine State.

From there, SDSU plays neutral site games against Toledo (March 10 and 11) and Butler (March 11) before a return to THE Spring Games. The Jackrabbits' invitational schedule finishes with Brown and Central Michigan March 13, and Indiana and Toledo March 14.

The Jackrabbits are 8-6 through three weekends of action, last playing Feb. 21-23 at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas. South Dakota State went 4-1 at that event.

Scouting the Jackrabbits
- SDSU is hitting .278 as a team through 14 games, scoring 57 runs on the season with 20 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs and 25 walks. Opponents are batting .254 with 54 runs scored while drawing 48 walks.
- Cylie Halvorson has started 12 of 13 appearances in her first collegiate season and leads the team with a .412 average (14 of 34). Halvorson has four doubles, a home run and six runs driven in.
- Kelsey Lenox has blasted five home runs (with a pair of three-run shots) in the early season and leads the team with 15 runs batted in. She is hitting .343 on the year and has two doubles with seven walks.
- Peyton Daugherty has a team-high 16 hits with two triples, using her speed to go 7-of-7 on stolen base attempts.
- Allison Yoder is hitting .300 with three home runs, leading the team in extra base hits with a pair of doubles and a triple.
- The Jackrabbits hold a 3.27 team ERA among six pitchers, led by Grace Glanzer's 54 innings, 42 strikeouts, 2.33 ERA and .209 batting average against. Kendra Conard (1-3) has made four appearances and tossed 16 innings, striking out 11.
- Glanzer is 7-2 on the year with seven complete-game appearances.
- SDSU has seen Allison Yoder, Hannah Loving and Lenox combine to throw seven baserunners out trying to steal bases. Yoder and lenox have each caught three runners, and Loving one behind the dish.
- Daugherty tallied the first hit of 2020 in SDSU's first at-bat of the new year.
- Paige Gerdes is the lone senior on a team with 17 underclassman. SDSU's junior class includes four letterwinners. Gerdes has appeared in 108 games as a Jackrabbit with 11 doubles and a trio of home runs.
- South Dakota State won 37 games the between 2018-19, matching its best two-year total all-time. The 74 wins are the most over two years as a Division I program, and are tied with SDSU's 1996-97 record (43 wins in 1996, 31 wins in 1997).
- The Jackrabbits have made two consecutive postseason appearances, earning a trip to regionals of the National Invitational Softball Championship in Greeley, Colorado (2018) and Ames, Iowa (2019).
