Graduate transfer Haley Greer has signed to play her final season of eligibility at South Dakota State for the 2020-21 season, head coach
Aaron Johnston announced Wednesday. Greer is expected to graduate from Colgate this spring with a degree in English.
Â
"We are thrilled to welcome Haley and her family to Jackrabbit nation! She brings a great deal of game experience to our program, and her ability to play the point guard position fills a need on our roster," Johnston said. "This will be a great fit for both Haley and for SDSU."
Â
Greer played in 27 games for Colgate during the 2019-20 season. She averaged 8.1 points per game and made a team-leading 34 3-pointers. Greer rejected a team-best 23 blocks, while adding 30 steals and 61 assists. The 5-10 point guard shot 41.2 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from long distance.
Â
The Winnetka, Ill. native started 21 of the 29 games she appeared in as a junior, averaging 7.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. She ranked second on the team with 65 assists and third with 17 blocked shots.
Â
As a sophomore, Greer appeared in 28 contests and led the team from the free-throw line at 88.2 percent. She played in seven games as a freshman before suffering a season-ending injury.
Â
Greer is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member and a 2018-19 Colgate Raider Academic Honor Roll honoree.
Â
As a graduate transfer, Greer will be immediately eligible to play for the Jackrabbits.
